Community Involvement Activity

&

Picnic at Fred Howard Park

This morning we got together and worked on our community involvement activity by cleaning up the trash that had accumulated on each side of the Courtney Cambell Causeway between Clearwater and Tampa.   It is a beautiful stretch of highway that transverses Old Tampa Bay.  Unfortunately,  immature, simple people throw their unwanted trash from their vehicles as they pass over this stretch of beautiful highway. Our organization has volunteered to make periodic clean-up runs over this stretch of roadway in order to help keep it looking beautiful.

Shortly after sunrise we assembled and spent most of the morning walking this stretch of road and picking up the discards.

Upon completion of this activity we headed home to clean up and then gathered at Fred Howard Park which is west of Tarpon Springs and on the Gulf of Mexico. The shelter that Barb had reserved was in an outstanding location. We had a large grassy area in which to play games and a unobstructed view of the Gulf.  The gentle breeze coming in from the Gulf as actually cool but was welcomed after the morning activities. We all brought our picnic lunches and Barb even brought a "Rainbow" cake for.......?  The slideshow presentation below gives a good account of our activities.
