Dear Rich, Lucy and all M&M's,
This morning Judy and I got on your
website hopefully finding a few pictures of yesterday's event. Much to our surprise and
delight, we found a whole story and a slide show of this incredible day. It is hard to put
into words when something truly magical happens, but you know me and I will try my best.
First and foremost, Thank-You all for helping to make this boy's life little brighter. I
spoke with Janet his mother after you all left and she filled me in on some more details
of Ben's life. He was adopted; his mother was raped by her brother in- law. At 6 years old
at Christmas, he was given his last bicycle. This Christmas, he rode on his last bike. He
is on steroids, and is in chronic pain. The doctors always
worried about him getting addicted to pain pills. It hurts to move him from seat to chair. They told the family to let
him take any pain pills he wants to. The van they have was donated and the family is
stretched financially to the limit. Janet the mom was a nurse and she hasn't worked for
years. The dad is at the top end of his scale of pay as a medical technician. . The story
goes on and on.
Enough of that. You M&M's are the
warmest, most wonderful people I have ever met. It makes my life easier to know people
like you exist and every time I have called upon you for something, you are there and give
more than asked. I consider you all my Club even if we don't get to come to the events and
hang out with you wonderful people as we are struggling to make this business go. We are
grateful to you for what you do for people and are always in our thoughts and prayers.
The real deal guys is, I love to ride
my bikes, trikes and whatever is around. You guys are real riders and not Rolex riders. I
saw skill, knowledge, safety, experience and level headedness. Everyone there who had a
job did it with seriousness and good judgment. It turned out to be so much more than I
ever dreamed. There is magic and Christmas is here. I don't care what is proper but God
visited with us yesterday.
Once again, Thank You all
